This Intellectual Property Policy (“Policy”) explains the ownership, licensing, protection, and permitted use of intellectual property associated with Web of Wave (“Web of Wave”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), our website, our services, and our project deliverables.
This Policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions and Service Agreement.

2. Purpose#
The purpose of this Policy is to clearly define:
- Ownership of intellectual property.
- Rights granted to Clients.
- Rights retained by Web of Wave.
- Ownership of project deliverables.
- Use of third-party software.
- Protection of proprietary assets.
3. Intellectual Property Covered#
This Policy applies to, without limitation:
- Website source code.
- Frontend code.
- Backend code.
- APIs.
- Databases.
- UI/UX designs.
- Wireframes.
- Design systems.
- Logos and branding.
- Icons and graphics.
- Illustrations.
- Documentation.
- Technical architecture.
- Automation scripts.
- AI prompts and prompt libraries.
- Templates.
- Reusable software components.
- Internal development tools.
- Build scripts.
- Deployment scripts.
- Marketing assets.
- Case studies.
- Educational materials.
4. Ownership of Web of Wave Intellectual Property#
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, all intellectual property created by or owned by Web of Wave before the commencement of a Client Project shall remain the exclusive property of Web of Wave. This includes, without limitation:
- Internal frameworks.
- Starter templates.
- Boilerplates.
- Utility libraries.
- Component libraries.
- Internal UI kits.
- Internal design systems.
- Internal documentation.
- Workflow automation.
- Development processes.
- Coding standards.
- Deployment workflows.
- Testing frameworks.
Nothing in any Project transfers ownership of these pre-existing assets.
5. Client-Owned Intellectual Property#
The Client retains ownership of intellectual property that existed before engaging Web of Wave, including:
- Company name.
- Registered trademarks.
- Logos.
- Brand identity.
- Marketing materials.
- Product catalogues.
- Business documentation.
- Licensed media supplied by the Client.
- Customer databases owned by the Client.
The Client grants Web of Wave a limited, non-exclusive licence to use such materials solely for the purpose of performing the agreed services.
6. Ownership of Project Deliverables#
Subject to full payment of all outstanding invoices, compliance with the Service Agreement, and compliance with the Terms & Conditions, the Client shall receive ownership or an appropriate licence to the final deliverables specifically identified in the approved Proposal or Statement of Work. Deliverables may include:
- Website source code.
- Responsive layouts.
- Landing pages.
- Approved graphics.
- Approved content created under the Project.
- Deployment-ready build files.
- Technical documentation expressly included in the scope.
7. Rights Retained by Web of Wave#
Unless expressly assigned in writing, Web of Wave retains ownership of:
- Internal development methodologies.
- Generic UI components.
- Reusable software modules.
- Development frameworks.
- Design systems.
- Utility functions.
- Prompt engineering methodologies.
- AI automation frameworks.
- Internal templates.
- Internal scripts.
- Testing tools.
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Build automation.
- Proprietary documentation.
These assets may be reused in future projects without restriction.
8. Source Code Ownership#
Source code ownership transfers only after completion of the Project, payment of all outstanding amounts, and satisfaction of any contractual conditions relating to delivery. Until such time, all source code remains the property of Web of Wave.
Where software is licensed rather than assigned, ownership remains with Web of Wave and the Client receives only the licence expressly granted.
9. Design Files#
Editable source files are not automatically included in Project delivery. This includes:
- Figma files.
- Adobe XD files.
- Photoshop (.PSD) files.
- Illustrator (.AI) files.
- Sketch files.
- Motion graphics source files.
Transfer of editable files must be expressly included in the Proposal, Statement of Work, or another written agreement.
10. Git Repository Ownership#
Where GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or another version control platform is used:
- Repository ownership shall follow the agreed Project scope.
- Administrative access may be transferred after full payment where included in the agreement.
- Internal repositories containing proprietary assets shall remain the property of Web of Wave.
Nothing in this Policy requires Web of Wave to disclose unrelated repositories, confidential development history, or proprietary internal tooling.
11. Third-Party Software and Licences#
Projects may include third-party software, libraries, fonts, plugins, APIs, frameworks, or services. Such components remain subject to their respective licence agreements, and the Client agrees to comply with all applicable third-party licence terms. Web of Wave shall not be responsible for changes made by third-party providers after project delivery.
